Oh hell yes. It always makes my day when Vancouver punks Nu Sensae drop a new track. "Swim" is the first leak of Nu Sensae's upcoming sophomore LP "Sundowning" (August 7 via Suicide Squeeze). If you are unfamiliar with the shreddyness that is Nu Sensae, this is a good track to start with, well, they are all good tracks to start with, although "Swim" features a newly added 3rd member on guitar which only adds to the insanity. I am personally really excited for this release. Stream "Swim" now over at Spin and get ready to headbang.
UK based producer Gold Panda has dropped two new tracks today, "Mountain" and "Financial District". Both tracks are set to apear on Gold Panda's upcoming, aptly titled "Mountain / Financial District" 7" dropping June 11th via Ghostly (Pre-Order). Both tracks are fairly slow burners, but make for a great ease into the week... Listen...
Pop genius guitar shredder Dustin Wong "asked fans and friends to tell him about a dream by recording a desription to his Soundcloud page. He has created five original songs, each inspired by one of their dreams and incorporating their descriptions, and he will post a new track each day this week." The track "Pink Diamond" appears on Dustin's recently released "Dreams Say, View, Create, Shadow Leads" LP available now via Thrill Jockey. Watch...
I'm actually really into this new Azealia Banks single “Jumanji” off her upcoming mixtape "Fantastic", which is due to drop sometime this summer. The track features production from Hudson Mohawke and Nick Hook, which is essentially a winning combo. Not much more to say about this... Listen...
When is C Plus going to blow up? I mean, seriously, it has been long enough. Just take a peep at the Sacramento, CA based emcee's discography, in fact, browse through it a bit. All of it it good, actually, good is an understatement. The same can be said about DJ Oasis whom has also been putting in work since before I can remember. The track also features the equally talented, also Sacramento based emcee Matt Calli, and could easily be a radio jam to accompany any wild Friday night. Listen...
As a fan of music first and foremost, video nerd second, tons of other interests third, and music blogger last LAST, I tend to generally stray far from anything opinionated in the blog portion of Terroreyes. 'I like this, here's all the info, maybe you will too, here you go…' But rarely something comes about that I wish to RAVE about. As a video nerd, only concentrated on music videos and small other pockets of vide art, rarely does something come about that blends the two worlds so perfectly. I mean, it is what every music video director strives to do. To convey visually exactly what any given song conveys emotionally. Rarely does this happen...
I doubt I have ever done this, and I doubt that if you ask countless other music video directors if they have achieved this, they would also agree, that they have not. And when you view a video that has, I am not going to lie, you get a bit envious. Like, 'You asshole! Where did you find that location!? How did you get that shot' 'You lucky son of a bitch!' Then, there is the step beyond that, where everything is SO perfectly aligned, works SO well, that all envy is thrown out the window and all you are left to feel is amazement at the perfect visual representation of a song. Disagree with me all you want, but the music video for Lyonnais' "A Sign From On High / Modern Calvary" is that video for me. In the age of the internet and digital attention spans sputtering out at around one minute, I understand that is a stretch to watch / listen to a seven plus minute track with accompanying visuals, but those who care will. This video is perfectly simple, yet accompanying in every regard. The track, nor the video have any tricks, and sit side by side, if not on top of each other, perfectly. Directors Lee Tesche and Sam Campbell handled the visuals perfectly, and Atlanta based four piece Lyonnais have crafted a track that is as as haunting as it is entrancing. Everything about this combination works, and I am a a fan of everything this combo has to to offer.
Lyonnais' debut LP "Want For Wish For Nowhere" is available now via Hoss Records.
Well, this might make a handful of people very happy today. To some, Carson McWhirter is somewhat of a cult guitar god. His collaborative track with Zach Hill "Face Tat" may be one of the more shreddy four minutes of sound that have ever been created. (video) And his intricate guitar compositions are intense enough to spin heads... McWhirter has been fairly silent over the past year, until today...
Today McWhirter has release "SNDLPVN" upon the world. Nine tracks, some familiar sounds, such as "Zarzamora de Zartosht, Encandilar" (video) and The Deadly Silver Light of Margaras, and a few new ones, such as the opening track "IV" which features what seems to be a full band, but is most likely all McWhirters instrumentation... Of all the tracks and albums we post here on the site that go under the radar and remain unnoticed, this is not the one to ignore, I promise you. Stream "SNDLPVN" in its entirety...
Check out the new Human Resources music video for the track "Private Booths for Sallow Suits". We have posted about the dreary tunes this of NY based musician before, and cannot get enough. Human Resources makes the sort of soundscapes that could accompany, well, ... rather than me stating what sort of activity or visuals "Private Booths for Sallow Suits" would accompany well, just watch the Alice Cohen directed music video, which it accompanies perfectly. Watch...
No word as to what these two Death Grips tracks "Fyrd Up" and "Poser Killer" actually are, but they sound a bit like demos and a tad bit premature. Either way, they exist and where apparently uploaded to youtube by the guy who "Sells Zach Hill weed" according to the top rated comment. We all know D.G. can basically do no wrong, so, Listen...
